On Tuesday September 21st, 2021, the varsity volleyball teams of West Carroll and Warren High, faced off against each other in Warren Illinois, in what was to be one of the best high school volleyball games in the NUIC conference in quite some time.
The match ended in a 2-1 victory for the West Carroll Thunder. The Third tie breaking game was a nail biter, ending with a score of 27-25 in favor of West Carroll. There was some astonishing levels of play by both teams. The match was full of digs, serves, and net play, that will stay in the memories of the fans, of both schools for quite some time.
Both coaching staffs were superb in their lineups, play calling and player substitution's. It clearly was a game for the record books.
I would imagine we will see these two teams rise in the conference standing, and be a credible threat to any team they should face in the upcoming state playoffs.
Neither team should be taken lightly. Both teams have a crop of underclassman that will turn many heads in the upcoming conference games.
